A rich history
Founded in 1922 as the North Carolina Cotton Growers Cooperative Association, our cooperative emerged from the resilience of farmers seeking a more profitable way to market their cotton. In response to the post-World War I cotton price collapse, the cooperative was born, incorporating on February 8, 1922, thanks to the collaborative efforts of visionaries like B.W. Kilgore, Clarence Poe, Governor Cameron Morris, and a collective of bankers, politicians, cotton farmers, and extension workers.
Today, as the second oldest cotton cooperative in the country, we remain steadfast, upholding the enduring principles set forth by our founders.
