Keith T. Lucas

Keith Lucas is a native of South Alabama. Keith attended Auburn University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1985. Keith began his career in textiles right out of college going to work for Swift Textiles, a division of Dominion Textiles, Inc., located in Columbus, Georgia. Keith served as Process Engineer from 1985 to 1987 and Manager of Process Engineering from 1987 to 1991 for the Columbus Yarn Plant. From 1991 to 1995, Keith served as Assitant Director for Dominion Cotton Services. In 1992, Keith received the distinguished honor of graduating first in his class from the Memphis International Cotton School in Memphis, Tennessee.

In September of 1995, Keith took a giant leap and established Lucas Cotton Company as a sole proprietor providing cotton brokerage services to the southeast. In August of 1997, Lucas Cotton merged with Cottage Hill Trading Company, a cotton merchandizing firm, where Keith served as Partner and Vice President until August of 2001.

Keith came on board with Carolinas Cotton Growers Cooperative in 2001, serving as Vice President of Marketing. Keith is responsible for all member-grower relations including forward contracting, spot purchases and managing the day to day operations of cotton services. Keith oversees the Cooperative sales operations including developing export markets, executing sales and managing export relationships. In addition to these responsibilities, Keith oversees the relationships for the Cooperative's domestic mill customers and merchant to merchant sales.

Keith is active in industry organizations including serving as a delegate to the National Cotton Council and committee member to the Council's Bale Packaging Committee. Keith and his wife, Susan, reside in Raleigh, NC and have three children: Rett, Katie and Maggie.
